Your Questions Answered

Have a question? Want to know a bit more about me, my retreats and coaching services? To help you get your answers quickly, I’ve compiled a list of some of the most popular questions I’ve received from clients, with some answers. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch and I’ll be happy to assist you.

I offer coaching in mindfulness, meditation, prayer and silent contemplation across traditions.

Are programs still running during the Coronavirus Shelter-In period?

Yes.  All classes, practice clinics and coaching are continuing on a normal schedule through Zoom video meetings or telephone.

 What is coaching in general?

Coaching is about personal change.  Growth is created by the person being coached.  The coach offers tools and accompanies during the process.

This process may involve themes such as happiness, healing, recovery, resilience, adaptation, persistence through obstacles and failures, staying focused, handling the pleasant and unpleasant with grace, connecting with others, feeling safe, being effective, letting go, crossing transitions, welcoming the new, anchoring motivation, manifesting leadership or service, expressing care and compassion.

All of these themes can be nurtured through your daily practice of mindfulness or prayer!

If you are wondering how spiritual practice relates to any of your stress/distress or your happiness and joy that's as good a reason as any to try a few sessions of contemplative coaching.

Can I join a practice clinic?  Book a coaching session?

Yes.

Please contact me.  Use the forms at the bottom of this page, the home page or any coaching or workshop page.

Look through my "Coaching" page for ideas about optional approaches -- short term boost, long term support, co-meditation in trios, special topics, etc...

What are your fees?

I'm committed to supporting spiritual practice for no fee.  But the work is not given for free.

In the movements lead by Jesus and Buddha spiritual support was considered priceless and therefore beyond the realm of pricetags.  Please join me in my effort to bolster the creative and sacred nature of work and create a cooperative gift economy.

In the West this has been known as "living on alms" exemplified by many of the saints.     Buddhists refer to the spiritual ecology of giving as "Dana."  Giver and Givee both remain aware that any size act of mutual support is of value.  We know that generosity fosters a wholesome mind and plants the seeds of spiritual well-being.

Coaching and education are a labor of love.  And that work pays some of my bills.  If you want to see more of it, please nourish the work by making a gift.

How do I register for a program?

To register use the form at the bottom of this page to send your contact information.  You can find the same form at the bottom of any retreat or coaching page, or on the home page.

Make sure to mention names and dates of the service you'd like.

Please send a gift of any size as a deposit to hold your slot -- Chris Phillips, 364 Merchants Rd, Rochester NY 14609.   Or use Paypal and do it now.

Gifts are what keep spiritual ecologies rolling, so there will be a chance during the program to support this work to continue.   Look for the box marked "dana," the ancient word for giving as a spiritual practice.  Or ask in a zoom meeting about our virtual gift box through Paypal.

Cash, check, electronic funds transfer and paypal available.
